About Me

I’ve been speaking and teaching for more than ten years in a variety of settings including Women’s Retreats, workshops, multi-week discipleship classes, MOPS, and MomsNEXT.  My background is in Organizational Communication and my passion is to equip women to move from spiritual and relational dysfunction to wholeness.

I am unwilling to sit on the sidelines and watch women struggle or settle in their lives as followers of Christ. I want to see the potential and the power of God unleashed in the lives of women.

I believe in teaching from my weaknesses as well as my strengths and am open about my own struggles and breakthroughs.  I think you’ll find me approachable and warm–whether we’re at a women’s retreat or sharing a cup of coffee–I want to hear your story and encourage you in your journey.  I use my strong Biblical foundation and insight to encourage, inspire and equip women to live into all that God dreams for them.

My husband, Adam, and I have been married for 12 years and have 2 daughters and a son.  We had the joy of adopting our son from India.  We’ve raised our family in an inner-city Indianapolis neighborhood for the last 8 years and attend Common Ground Christian Church.

I enjoy running, photography, writing, eating dark chocolate, watching movies and “playing” in my flower beds.

My Most Requested Topics

Solitude: As women we spend so much time caring for the needs of others, we rarely make time to care for our own souls.  In this presentation I’ll teach you how to build a rhythm of retreat into your life, explore some of the essential elements of solitude and invite you on the journey from frustration to fulfillment.

Being and Doing: Will I Ever Get This Right? In spite of our best intentions, business creeps in to all of our lives.  Just knowing that we should take time to rest and care for our souls isn’t enough.  In this session, I’ll use a simple analogy to help you evaluate where you’re at on the being/doing spectrum, give you tools to evaluate what really refreshes your soul and talk about next steps for reclaiming balance in your life.

The Comparison Trap: One weakness all women have in common is the Comparison Trap.  I’ll teach you how to turn Comparison, Competition and Compulsion into Empathy, Encouragement and Empowerment that will set you free and allow you to build deep relationships with all kinds of women.

The Deepest Needs of a Woman’s Heart:  Women’s hearts are wired with two basic needs.  We’ll look at scripture that reveals those needs and how Jesus meets them when we turn our gaze to Him.  A powerful message of hope and healing.

Mentoring and Friendship–Take the First Step  For so many women, deep friendship seems like an illusive dream that belongs to others.  We’ll talk about the challenges and opportunities found in friendships between women, debunk some myths about mentoring and free you to be the amazing friend you were made to be.

Open Hands–An Invitation to Freedom  Like the disciples looking over the hungry crowds, we often feel inadequate to meet the needs of the hungry and broken. In this talk, I’ll explore the call God has on each of our lives and His invitation to open our hands so He can use us to care for the needs of the world in meaningful and miraculous ways.

Women’s Retreat: A Woman of Influence

Have you been impacted by significant women in your life? Let’s look together at the Proverbs 31 woman for insight on how to become women of influence. You can have a meaningful impact on the spiritual lives of friends and family members. Even if you’re not perfect. Get to know other women. Take some time to worship, reflect, and even create something special together. You don’t need to be a member of ZCC to attend.
